FREE Lunch n’ Learn in Recognition of National Stroke Month

Lunch n Learn

The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority is hosting a free Lunch n’ Learn in partnership with Floyd Primary Stroke Center.
Topic: “Think Stroke. Think Fast. BE FAST.”
Thornton Center
When: Wednesday, May 2 at 12 noon.
Cost: The event is free to the public, but pre-registration is required.

The Lunch n’ Learn is being hosted in recognition of National Stroke Month. Anyone can have a stroke no matter age, race or gender. The public is invited to come hear life saving information regarding strokes as well as learn risks of stroke through a personal stroke assessment. The session will be presented by Debbie Fisher, RN, Stroke Coordinator for Floyd Primary Stroke Center.

On average in the United States, someone has a stroke every 40 seconds!  The good news is that up to 80 percent of strokes can be prevented, and the best way to protect yourself and loved ones from stroke is to understand personal risk and how to manage it.

Floyd Primary Stroke Center will provide lunch for all participants. Lunch n’ Learn is provided free of charge, but pre-registration is required to participate.
