Spring & Summer Camps

Spring Break Camp

Summer Camp: Camp Anthony or Thornton
Each week of camp follows a schedule of structured activities from games to crafts in a fun, friendly environment. Kids will enjoy a weekly trip to the Northside Swim Center (weather permitting)
and a field trip. Camp Anthony provides breakfast & lunch through the Federal Food Program for those who qualify.

Simple Machines
This camp is perfect for introducing key simple machines concepts while building teamwork and communications skills. The camp will feature problem-solving and hands-on activities that will develop elementary students understanding of basic physical science concepts such as gears, pulleys, levers, and wheels and axles through observation, reasoning, prediction, and critical thinking.
Ages: 5-7 Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm

LEGO Camp Register Online
Simple & Motorized Mechanisms
Students will build and explore machines and mechanisms, investigate motorized machines, calibrate and capture wind and study gearing mechanisms.
Ages: 8 – 14 Time: 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Summer Fun Gymnastic Camp Register Online
Each day campers will enjoy gymnastics, tumbling, games, races, arts & crafts. Gymnastics experience is NOT required. Daily snack and drink included. All activities on site in the new state of the art gymnastics center. Camp taught by RFPRA Gymnastics Staff.
Dates/Time: June 4-8, 8 am -12 noon

Outdoor Camp (1 Shorter Ave -Admin Office)
In partnership with the Floyd County Sheriff's
Department and the Floyd County Wildlife
Association, participants will enjoy a week of outdoor adventures. Activities include fishing, archery, canoeing/boating, outdoor cooking, Wildlife identification, first aid and more. Participants will meet at the RFPRA Admin Office and be transported to the Floyd County Wildlife Association.

TennisTennis Camps
Location: Rome-Floyd Tennis Center)
Choose a week: June 4-8; June 25-29; July 2-6; July 11-13(3 days); July 23-27
Cost: $85 for 5 day camp; $50 for 3 day camp Time: 9 am - 12 noon

Select your Tennis Camp:

Child Tennis Camp(Ages 5-7) – This camp will introduce basic tennis fundaments for players who are not only developing hand-eye coordination, but also a general sense of how to act on court. They will learn a number of skills designed to help them put their racket on the ball, and cooperate with other players. We will use Quickstart balls, on a smaller court with a lower net.

Youth Tennis Camp (Ages 8-10) - Most players in this class are beginner or intermediate level players. Many of the drills will be technique based, refining strokes, learning to keep score and playing matches. This camp is geared for players who are sustaining rallies and are able to play competitive games like king of the court, singles matches, doubles matches etc. We will use Quickstart balls, on a smaller court with a standard net.

Junior Tennis Camp(Ages 11 & up) - This program is for Middle School and High School players with a combination of beginner and intermediate skill levels. They may have taken up tennis later in Middle School or High School, but would like to train and improve their results in their school performance.

Proceeds benefit RFPRA youth & adult programming

Bring your 4 legged friend for our Annual Doggie Dash. All 4 legged participants will receive a goodie bag full of tail shaking treats and a participation certificate. All 2 legged participants will receive a doggie dash t-shirt.

Dogs will be split up in weight divisions:
75 Pounds < Race @ 9:00am
50 -75 Pounds Race @ 9:30am
25 - 50 Pounds Race @ 10:00am
