Spring Girls Fast-pitch Softball

Parade of Champions
Parade of Champions Details: Uniformed RFPRA Baseball & Softball teams will parade around the Braves track at the Rome Braves game on Saturday, May 8. Teams will be announced over the PA with live footage on the video board. Enjoy the game and a hotdog! The team who purchases the most family passes wins a team pool party at Northside Swim Center!*

All proceeds benefit Hall of Fame Sports Scholarships to help children in need play sports.

General Softball Information

Only females are allowed to play in all age divisions.

Spring & Fall Season: Jan 1 of the current year

Team Formation
All participants will be placed on teams based on age and school district currently attending. When insufficient number of participants is registered to form a team, districts will be combined to form a team. Teams will be formed with the volunteer coaches’ assistances. Returning coaches will choose all players that played for them the previous year. All first year players will be shared equally amongst coaches in each district. Team Formation starts one week after the end of registration. Once team formation has ended a coach will contact all players and parents.
Note: Participants are grouped together based on school attending to make practice more convenient for parents. Local schools do not have any affiliation or authority concerning the youth teams organized through the RFPRA.

Practice Requirements
Practices begin after team formation has been established. Before season, teams practice 3 times a week for 2 hours each practice.During season, teams practice 2 times a week for 1 hour and 30 minutes each practice.

Game Participation Rule
Ten games are played in all age divisions. five games are played at home and five games are played away.

Uniforms
Uniform fees are separate from registration fees. Each team will acquire their own uniforms by parent payment or local sponsors. All teams are required to wear league approved uniform . Fast pitch teams 12,14 & under may choose to wear either long pants or shorts, but no combinations.

Awards

First and second place teams in each age division will receive player trophies.

All-star Selection Process
Tournament teams will be organized for all Kid Pitch divisions. Only one tournament team will be formed in each age division. Each team will consist of 12-13 players.
Each league’s head coaches will be allowed to nominate players for the tournament team. After nominations have been made, league head coaches will vote for the nominated players. The top 10 players receiving the most votes will be placed on the tournament team.
League Head Coaches will meet to vote for tournament team players. Meeting to determine tournament team roster will determined at a later date. Any league Head Coach unable to attend the voting meeting may submit their list of nominations prior to the meeting to the sports coordinator or they may send their registered assistant coach to the meeting with prior approval of the Sports Coordinator.
