Georgia Fire Youth Indoor Football Program

Youth Indoor Football
- Coming this Spring!
The RFPRA and Georgia Fire are introducing 8 on 8 indoor youth tackle football! Enjoy a fun indoor experience for a minimum of five officiated games at the Rome Forum.

Register: April 21 - May 9
Game Location: Rome Forum
Game Dates: June 1, 7, 14, 28, 29 Championship Game: June 29
Player Evaluation: May 11, 2 PM, Barron Stadium
Team Draft: Wednesday, May 14
Age Divisions*: 9-10 and 11-12
*Only 72 participants allowed per age division.
Cost: $130 (Includes jersey, socks, helmet decals & a youth season
ticket to Georgia Fire Home Games)

- All games are played at the Rome Forum
All youth participants receive a season ticket to the Georgia Fire home games.

We are currently identifying coaches for this league. A total of 8 coaches are needed, four in each age division. Interested coaches should submit a Coaches Application to the RFPRA by Friday, May 2.

Fall Football & Cheerleading

Youth football and cheerleading is conducted jointly by the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority and the Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Georgia. Teams are formed based on ages and school currently attending. Each football division has weight limits for running backs and receivers, all players above the limits are designated as linemen. Each playing division has a minimum playing requirement for each participant.

Cheerleading squads are based on ages and current school attending.

Registration: July 15 - August 15
Cost: $66 (Football); $55(Cheerleading)
Late Registration Starts: August 16 ($10 late fee)Registration Registration Deadline: Late registration will be open from Friday, August 17 through August 20 for Pee Wee and August
22 for other age divisions.
Weigh-in (Mandatory): Pee Wee, Jr. Pee Wee & Mites
Practices Begin: August 5
Jamboree: September 7
Games Begin:
September 14
Ages Control Date: September 1st of the current year

Cheerleading Age Divisions:
Junior Pee Wee: 5- 8 year olds, Pee Wee: 9 & 10 year olds, Mites: 11 & 12 year olds

Football Age Divisions/Weight Limits
Junior Pee Wee 7-8
(Running backs/receivers max weight: 80 lbs)

Pee Wee 9-10
(Running backs/receivers max weight: 95 lbs)

Mites 11-12
(Running backs/receivers max weight: 125 lbs)

All players over these weight restrictions are designated as linemen and are not allowed to carry or catch the ball.

Scholarships/Financial Aid
The Financial Aid deadline is August 8 for both football and cheerleading.  Financial aid applications will not be accepted after this date.

Game Admission: Jamboree, Regular Season and Play-Off Games $1.00 (this does not include Heritage Bowl Games)

Game times: 5:30pm/7:00pm or 6:00pm/7:30pm

Game Locations
Games are played at two locations:
1) Riverview Sports Complex: Behind the levee on E. 2nd Ave. Rome, 30161.
2) Boys and Girls Club of Northwest GA: 100 Gadson St NW, Rome, 30165.

Game Participation Rule

Season games: 8-10 games
Junior Pee Wee: 4 plays
Pee Wee: 4 plays
Mites: 4 plays

Uniforms are not included in the registration fee. Parents are responsible for purchasing the child's uniform. A uniform for youth football shall include a certified helmet with face guard, shoulder pads, football pants with pads protecting the hips, butt, thighs, and knees; and a jersey with numerals on the front and back. It is mandatory that all players wear such uniforms. All players must wear mouthpieces.

All age divisions will receive first and second place individual player awards following post season tournament.

Carrington is available for evaluations of athletes for RFPRA sports at no cost to our athletes. She is on-site at the RFPRA main office daily. She also covers games and practices for various RFPRA sports.
