General Information
Lock and Dam is a 73 acre park, located off Blacks Bluff Road is on the National Registry of Historical Landmarks and offers some of the best crappie and striper fishing in North GA. The park offers visitors 31 scenic RV ready campsites with picnic shelters, a large picnic shelter, the Coosa River Trading Post (a convenience fishing and camping supply store), an exhibition center, river fishing and boat access ramp. Other amenities include: horseshoe pits, various picnic shelters, playground, restrooms, shower and laundry facility, nature trails, an observation overlook, and volleyball court. The park also has a primitive group tent camping area, with shelters, fire rings and restroom facilities. Great setting for group gatherings and outdoor educational opportunities for children.The 127 acre Coosa Nature Preserve now adjoins the property, and the Nature Center hosts a family of reptile and animal displays

Purchase your all your fishing tackle needs at the Trading Post. We currently stock minnows, crickets, Eagle Claw Hooks, Gamakstsu Hooks, Berkley and Stren Fishing Line, Zebco & Okuma Tundra Rod Combos, Laker Rigged Bamboo Ples, Zoom Bait, Crappie Jigs, Bobbers, Minnow Buckets & Nets, Rod Holders and much more! Please let us know if there is an item you'd like us to keep in stock.
Snacks & Drinks
Drop in the trading post for your early morning coffee and newspaper or take a break from fishing with refreshing drinks and snacks. Cold and warm beverages are available. Snacks include hot dogs, chips and candy.
Fishing License
Fishing licenses are available for purchase at the Coosa River Trading Post located in Lock & Dam Park. Licenses are good for one full year (12 months) from the date of purchase.

Camping
Lock and Dam Park offers RV and primative camping. All RV sites have power, water, tables and grills. Select sites feature direct sewer hook-up, river views and pavilions. Campers have full access to bath house, laundry facilities, fishing, trails, playground and nature preserve.

Pavilions with Restrooms
Large pavilion accomodates groups up to 300 people and is situated by a stage and playground and is a short walk to the river. Minimum 2 hour rental.
