Barron Stadium (SPLOST)
The 2009 SPLOST package allocates $3,369,000 to renovate the stadium complex. AstroTurf will be installed by August 2010. Lighting and a new track will also be installed. Concessions, locker rooms and rest rooms will replace Memorial Gym in 2011.

Barron Stadium & Maddox Track is closed during renovations.

North Floyd Park Recreation Center (SPLOST)
The North Floyd Park Recreation center wiill be 27,000 square feet and features two new gymnasiums, a fitness room with cardio equipment, rock climbing boulder and meeting rooms, new playground and commercial grade kitchen. The building is projected to be complete by December 2009.
Location: 102 North Floyd Park Rd (across from Armuchee High)

The public has access to pavilion & ball fields during construction.

Banty Jones Park

New Park Signs mark the name change from Crane Street Park to Banty Jones Park in honor of Charles "Banty" Jones. Mr. Jones was very active in the community and ran a service station near the current site of Crane Street Park at the intersection of Maple Street and East 13th Street for many years.

Shag William Park & Shannon Recreation Center Renovations (SPLOST)
2006 SPLOST Renovations are complete and the Shannon Recreation Center is now open!

Shag Williams Park received a makeover including a football practice field, two baseball practice fields, playground, pavilion with restrooms and a parking lot. The Shannon Scout Cabin was updated with a new kitchen, bathroom renovations and a 6,500 sq. ft. building addition.  The new building includes banquet room, chef’s kitchen and billiard room.  Completing the renovations is installation of new sod around the building, landscaping and new facility furniture.

Wolfe Park Practice Fields

Construction is under way for two practice fields located at Wolfe Park in Lindale situated close to the Gilbreath Recreation Center.
