Due to an increase in demand, Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation is extending the early registration deadline for all fall sports until Friday, Aug.21.
Baseball, softball, t-ball, football, cheerleading and volleyball will all play this fall and are currently registering for the season.
The early registration deadline for football, cheerleading, baseball, softball, t-ball and volleyball is now set for Aug. 21. Regular registration for football cheerleading, baseball, softball and t-ball ends on Sept. 1 with last-chance registration for those sports ending on Sept. 8. Volleyball’s regular registration period ends on Sept. 23 with last-chance registration running until Oct. 4.
Along with these sports, the recreational gymnastics program is offering classes for children ages 6 and up beginning in late August. Space in those classes is limited.
Team formation and practices in all sports are set to begin once regular registration ends. Kids who live outside Rome and Floyd County are welcome to register and compete but will need to pay a $20 out-of-county fee at registration.
Coaches and officials are also needed for several sports.
