Summer Camp Registration Opens March 1

Rome-Floyd Parks and Rec

As warmer temperatures and the calendar move into March, summer is just around the corner. Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation, along with its partners, is excited to offer a variety of summer camps where kids can engage in a range of fun activities and sports.

Registration is now open for several camps, including Kid VS Wild, Lego Nerf, Magic Camp, Camp Goodtimes, Gymnastics, Matt Larry Baseball Camp, and Golf Fore Less kids' golf camp. However, parents are advised to act quickly as some camp spots will fill up fast.

The Kid VS Wild Camp offers a week-long outdoor adventure featuring fishing, archery, arts and crafts, wildlife identification, and outdoor safety. Meanwhile, the Lego Nerf Camp encourages creativity through LEGO building and Nerf battles, promoting teamwork and communication skills. This year Parks and Rec will be partnering with Jeffrey Williams from Classic Magic to offer a Magic Camp for kids ages 7 to 12.

Gymnastics Camp invites both girls and boys to enjoy gymnastics, tumbling, games, and arts and crafts. Camp Goodtimes is a day camp designed for developmentally challenged youth, offering swimming, bowling, crafts, and field trips.

According to Todd Wofford, Director of Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation, "We understand that parents are always seeking activities for their children during the summer. We're pleased to offer these camps, but we encourage parents to register soon as space is limited and camps tend to fill up quickly."

Registration for most camps can be completed through the RFPRA website at www.rfpra.com or by visiting our office at 1 Shorter Avenue.

For the Matt Larry Baseball Camp, interested parents should contact Matt Larry at mlarry@darlingtonschool.org and for the Golf Camp call John Kendrick at 706.802.004 at Golf Fore Less.
