Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation in cooperation with Shorter University is playing host to a youth cheerleading camp and a youth softball camp in August.
The cheerleading camp is for kids ages four to 11 and will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Riverview Football Fields behind the levee. Coaches and members of the Shorter cheerleading squad will serve as instructors.
Cost for the camp, which lasts from 9 a.m. to noon that day, is $25 per camper. For more information, please call 706.291.0766.
The softball camp is for kids ages seven to 14 years old and will last from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lower Alto Park fields. Instructors will include coaches and members of the Shorter softball team. Cost is $25 per athlete. For more information, call Rick Nelson at 706.290.7676.
